About the Role

As a two-sided marketplace, managing a global and fragmented supply network, operational excellence is the beating heart of Geomiq.

As a result we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced operator, strategic thought partner and leader of organisational culture to play a critical role in the refinement, design, and integration of organisation wide, cross-team systems and processes.

You must thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and be motivated to execute our strategy to deliver on the Geomiq vision. Working with the CEO and Senior Leadership team to capitalise on a $100Bn untapped global market.

  • Provide leadership, thought partnership and tactical support to the Operations, People, Finance and Leadership teams ensuring that all organisational systems, policies, and practices reflect core values.
  • Analyse internal operations performance by analysing data and identify areas of process enhancement.
  • Coordinate and ensure strong execution across the Leadership Team in accordance with the strategic plan and drive strong cross-team systems.
  • Oversee financial strategy, supporting the Finance team in the development of financial models, budgets, and analyses; leverage data to drive key operational decisions
  • Ensure the design and implementation of a long-range strategy in order to maintain financial health and create sustainability in a time of growth and scaling
  • Effectively align systems and structures across teams and functions to maximise impact
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; attract, recruit, and retain required members of the operational team not currently in place; provide mentoring for management development and succession planning
  • Serve as a culture builder and transformative leader

  

About you and your experience

You must have experience strategizing, delivering and measuring complex processes, and you should be able to do so in about one-third the time that most competent people think possible. Leveraging strong organisational and project management skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritise multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and follow-through:

 

  • Proof of successfully executing on a predefined strategy, within a high growth start-up or top tier consultancy
  • Demonstrated financial management experience and budgeting skills
  • Demonstrated strong work-ethic, outstanding customer experience approach, experience leading and managing people, and exceptional interpersonal skills that lead to building relationships across the organisation
  • Proven experience managing complex Data Analytics / BI Systems and working with data-driven insights to inform strategic decision making
  • Your previous titles may include Head of Operations or Operations Manager or Consultant but particularly hands on
  • Bonus points for Marketplace, Supply Operations experience
  • Soft skills that go to the moon, the first interview will be over breakfast and the second will be an activity of choice (Run, Gym, Hackathon, cooking class, live music event or Fishing trip depending on what you would prefer)
  • Based in or around London as this will be a heavily hands-on role

Production/Buying/Engineering

Due to recent rapid expansion, Geomiq is on the look for an experienced Applications Engineer to be Geomiq's face of technical domain knowledge.

A successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The position will require competencies that include knowledge of CNC and Sheet Metal design and manufacturing methods, experience communicating design for manufacturability feedback, costing, and sound technical communication aptitude.

By the end of 2021, Geomiq will have tripled in size, with a view to growing even further in 2022. You'll be working to support our ambitious growth plans.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Analyse engineering models/drawings to define the sequence of machining or fabrication operations to ensure that the design intent and component quality can be achieved
  • Identify the cost drivers of manufacturing and make recommendations to optimise designs for speed of manufacture and cost savings
  • Experience estimating costing of components of prototyping, low volume and high volume production
  • Work closely with Sales and Quoting teams in order to ensure the quality of customer feedback and technical communication is industry leading
  • Communicating with customers to accurately define requirements and expectations
  • Project manage Tier 1 customer projects, including direct customer communications
  • Continuous content creation for internal team and external customers. i.e. website design guides and charts, internal technical knowledgebase, sales collateral, youtube videos, how-to videos and more. If you have graphic design flare, even better! (but not essential)

Must Have Knowledge

  • Multitude of manufacturing technologies (CNC, Sheet Metal at a minimum)
  • Protocols, standards, technologies and machining operations
  • Interrogate engineering drawings, models and Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • CAD experience in order to modify solid models and drawings
  • Provide technical support to suppliers, machinists and process engineers during production
  • Operate alone or as part of a team
  • First hand experience of specifying and inspecting surface finishes

We are looking for a Business/Data Analyst to join the team to contribute to next-generation solutions in online manufacturing.

Product

Our platform allows for the quoting and ordering of custom manufactured parts through an easy-to-use interface. Our main customers are Product Designers, Design Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Manufacturer Purchasing Departments.

About the Role

Geomiq is looking for a Senior business/Data analyst to join our Product, Development and Marketplace Analytics team on a part time or consultancy basis. Our mission is to assist Geomiq growth initiatives with data driven insights. Our team is working on discovering information hidden in a range of data to make intelligent business decisions to improve Marketplace growth and operations. This individual will have exceptional communication skills and the ability to quickly establish a rapport with all levels of internal staff. They are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, have exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to multitask.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and thrives on finding solutions to daily challenges.

What You’ll Do

  • Using advanced analytical skills, interpret and analyze data, identify trends, and generate actionable recommendations to guide strategic decisions to management
  • Develop key performance metrics and dashboards that help the Marketplace team focus on performance drivers
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams to define, develop, build and implement key performance metrics, reports, and dashboards to effectively manage, drive and support critical business priorities
  • Build an understanding of Geomiq data/systems and leverage tools (e.g. MySQL, dbt, PowerBI) to independently query data and run ad hoc analyses to drive insights and inform business strategy
  • Design and development of internal analysis tools
  • Evaluate existing templates/tools and enhance functionality/capabilities
  • General administrative duties ensuring process adherence by all departments

At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have

  • B.A./B.S. degree in technical or business fields or equivalent practical experience
  • 4-6 years of working experience and 3+ years in a business/data analytical role with proven record for delivery of data-driven insights to inform strategic decision making in a Marketplace business
  • Solid business acumen to be able to identify and create key metrics that measure and drive decisions
  • Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts: analyzing data, drawing conclusions and developing actionable recommendations
  • Proven problem solving skills and ability to influence others
  • Be self-driven and show ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment
  • MySQL skills querying relational databases
    • Proficiency in writing complex MySQL queries; you should feel comfortable using aggregate functions and all types of joins
  • Excel skills - comfortable with VLOOKUP functions, SUMIF formulas, Pivot tables and performing data models
  • Power BI or other Business Intelligence platform skills
  • The ability to work independently and deliver quality results
  • The ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment
  • The ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Experience with Analytics Programming Languages (Python, R, etc.)
  • A firm understanding of Hubspot 
  • E-commerce/marketplace experience
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating across different departments and roles
